Severn to Sahara contents:
As part of the the training for Severn to Sahara, I have decided to take on the UK Three Peaks Challenge. This challenge has never really tempted me before because of the huge stints of driving between the three mountains - for me, the challenge of 24 hours continuous running around the Bob Graham Round was a much purer mountain running challenge.
So, to get around the motorway aspect of the challenge, I've decided to join up the peaks by bicycle and turn this into a long distance multisport challenge - much more like it!
I plan to start at sea level and return to sea level between each peak, before again returning to sea level to finish the challenge - a bit of a purists take on things but otherwise I wasn't too sure about when to start and stop the clock! To continue with the three theme, I'll be adding a third wheel by using my trailer to lug kit and have given myself three days, 72 hours, from sea level to sea level. Currently planned for early summer - watch this space for further training updates!
